Dr. I. Rozema, DVM

Dr. Ingrid Rozema loves her job!  Since she was a young girl growing up in a small farming community she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian!

She graduated from WCVM (Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK) in 1996 and started her career as a mixed animal practitioner in Cremona, AB.  She married in 1998 and moved to the Edmonton area where she branched out, working in small animal emergency and gaining experience in small animal medicine.  in 2001 she moved to Black Diamond, and two years later decided to take the plunge, and opened her own practice with the help of her good friend and AHT, Tara Cydeyko.

What Ingrid loves most about her work life is the relationships that she can build with her clients and their pets  Often veterinarians are a part of emotional and difficult situations and when there is a personal connection, this interaction is more meaningful and open.

She believes that at Eastern Slopes Veterinary Services, everyone and everypaw is family!

Dr. Jordan Holt, DVM

Purina Guide Dog Fundraising

In May of 2013 Eastern Slopes Veterinary Services took part in the Purina Guide Dog Walk that was held in Okotoks, it was a great day with lots of sunshine, laughs, licks and wags! As a group we fundraised for the organization but felt that we could have done so much more. We made it our mission for the year to come to continue fundraising for this amazing organization until the following years Walk for Guide Dogs.

We have a fundraising goal of $2000.00 and as of January 15, 201 we are at $2000.00! Eastern Slopes held a Pet First Aid night at the Griffith Memorial Center in Black Diamond on November 2nd, 2013 with all

the admission money and all money raised from the sale of pet first aid kits going to the Guide Dog Fund.

Amazing Prizes

We also had a draw for numerous amazing prizes that had been graciously donated by a number of local people and businesses which began the night of the first aid course and ran until December 9th, . All money raised from ticket sales also went toward the fund. The pet first Aid kits are still available for purchasing at the clinic for $30.00.

Pet photos with Santa!

On December 9th,2013 we had the pleasure of hosting another Pet Photos with Santa night in conjunction with Black Diamond light up. Even though the night was bitterly cold we still had a number of people and pets pass through the door to have their picture taken with the Jolly fellow and to share in celebrating Eastern Slopes 10 year anniversary and the upcoming holiday season!

Tara, R.A.H.T

Tara grew up on a farm in South Eastern Alberta and from a young age was taught the importance of the care and respect that animals require. Tara was actively involved in 4-H Beef for most of her youth and enjoyed countless hours on horseback. Tara graduated from Fairview College in 2000 and has been an active member of the AAAHT ever since. After graduation Tara relocated to Okotoks and hasn’t left. She joined up with Dr. Rozema in 2003 to start up Eastern Slopes. Tara loves her work and feels very fortunate to be able to work with such amazing clients, pets and colleagues. She feels that client communication is very important and essential in providing the best care for her patients. She believes there is no such thing as a “stupid question.”

A few of Laurie’s hobbies include spending time in her garden as well as hiking, camping, fishing and canoeing.

Debbie, Veterinary Medical Receptionist

Debbie started at Eastern Slopes in August 2008 and, according to her, has not looked back.  She and her husband have raised their two sons in the country with an array of animals.  The sons are grown, her husband has retired, and the animals are still plentiful.  She has Rogan and Trooper, the pet horse and donkey.  Many named and unnamed cows.  Barn cats Cocoa, Cassidy and the new-comers Hunter, Oliver and Ryder.  Dogs Willow, Hannah and Ringo.  Life is anything but boring at home!  In her spare time you can find Debbie sitting on her front deck relaxing with a  cup of tea and a decorating magazine.
